2026 Hyundai Tucson Trims in Canada: Gas, Hybrid and Upgrade Choices
Choose the powertrain before the trim ladder
The 2026 Canadian Tucson has gasoline, conventional hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices. Start with the powertrain that fits your driving and charging routine, then choose the equipment you will use. All current Canadian Tucson trims have AWD, according to Hyundai Canada's model FAQ.
The useful equipment steps
| 2026 Canadian choice | Powertrain | Selected decision features |
|---|---|---|
| Preferred | 2.5L gasoline, eight-speed automatic | Heated wheel/front seats; adaptive cruise with stop/go |
| Preferred with Trend Package | Same gasoline powertrain | Panoramic roof, power liftgate, leatherette |
| N Line Hybrid | 1.6L turbo hybrid, six-speed automatic | N Line styling, heated rear seats, Bose audio |
| Ultimate Hybrid | Conventional hybrid | Ventilated front seats, memory, surround-view monitor |
| Ultimate Plug-in Hybrid | Plug-in hybrid | Ultimate equipment with external charging capability |

Hyundai's current FAQ also identifies a Hybrid Night Edition; ask for its particular equipment list rather than assuming it is an Ultimate.
Three useful two-trim shortlists
Preferred versus Preferred with Trend Package: keep the engine constant and decide whether the roof, liftgate and cabin upgrades solve something you use every week. Try the actual liftgate and load your regular cargo with the seats in use.
Preferred with Trend Package versus N Line Hybrid: this changes equipment and powertrain together. Record those unmatched features explicitly. Calculate the hybrid's fuel saving at your annual kilometres and compare it with the after-tax price premium. Do not attribute the whole price gap to the hybrid system.
N Line Hybrid versus Ultimate Hybrid: both are conventional hybrids. Start with comfort and parking features. Try the seating position and camera views yourself; a feature name alone does not establish which setup works better for you.
For a plug-in hybrid, confirm a regular charging location and tariff before comparing it with a conventional hybrid. Keep gasoline use and electricity use visible separately.
Compare complete costs
Use the price-difference worksheet below with two itemized same-day quotes, or the dated advertised listings below as a starting shortlist. Record the exact year, trim, drivetrain, colour/options, required charges, HST/licensing, incentives and expiry. A manufacturer MSRP and a dealer's advertised all-in price have different contents.
On the Ontario payment calculator, keep the rate, term, down payment and payment frequency the same to isolate a purchase-price difference. Then compare the actual offered rates separately. Review the total payments, interest and cash due now. The lease-versus-finance guide adds kilometre allowance, residual and end-of-term position.
Keep alternatives in the decision
Use the existing Tucson-versus-RAV4 Canadian comparison to compare equivalent hybrid AWD candidates and list the equipment differences. If size is the main question, repeat the Kona/Tucson fit checks before paying for more SUV.
Check a real unit
The Tucson hub connects these choices to current matching listings. Each unit shows its last check; gasoline availability does not establish hybrid availability. Open a specific listing to enquire, or ask John to compare two trims with your city, timing and budget. John receives the enquiry independently; the source confirms availability and the final purchase terms.
Compare two actual quoted prices

Add two complete quotes to see the difference.
Licensing differences, trade tax treatment and finance terms are separate. Compare the full loan payments and interest.
Current matching listings
These listings are a selected inventory sample. Each unit has its own verification time; an enquiry asks John Moores to check that vehicle.
